Karma Go, Udemy etc.

I have been quite busy completing courses in Udemy, playing with my new Karma Go Wifi, a new mini (Literally) computer and many others.

First let me tell you; my Karma Go arrived last Monday and I can not be more impressed with this little devise. I have full signal at home and at work and am able to have both my Surface Pro and the computer hooked up to the TV online at the same time, one streaming YouTube or Udemy and the other streaming Netflix with no problem. The full signal at work was the most surprising allowing me to login to my courses using my internet connection and not worry about using the work network for personal usage.

I purchased a new mini computer, a Kangaroo pc. It is about a quarter inch thick and a little larger than a Samsung Note 3 smart phone. It has more USB ports, memory than the Intel compute stick or the mego compute sticks as well as being Windows 10 compatible.

I just completed VBA and After Effects courses on the Udemy education web site with a couple VBA/Excel courses, Visual Studio, Arduino and a Unity course waiting for completion. The Unity course will wait until I start taking courses on completing my own education courses for some residual income for possible retirement.

This has been a very short update on what I have been doing. As I said earlier I did do a short unboxing of the Karma Go so I’ll edit and post that. Additionally I’ll update you on some plans I have for miles-me.net this year and my thoughts on retirement.

Below is the final video from the After Effects Genius course. It is a little silly but provided a lot of instruction of different techniques for animation and pre compositions.

Karma Go Week Four

It has now been four weeks since my Karma Go order and today or rather this afternoon is when it should arrive. I checked the tracking website and the package arrived in Tulsa, OK at 12:56am and as of 3:28am is out for delivery.

Stay tuned here for pictures and maybe a video of the unboxing of my new toy.

Karma Go Week Three

It has been three weeks  since the order of the Karma Go and I received an update last Tuesday with “A note about your Karma order”

“We wanted to take a minute to update you on your Karma order. We know waiting is the worst, but the wait is almost over.

With Thanksgiving around the corner, it will take a couple more days to process your order, Your Go will ship out next week. Keep your eyes on your inbox for a shipping confirmation,

Thanks again for hanging in there while we get these shipments out the door, and have a happy Thanksgiving”

This is great news and I can’t wait for the shipping confirmation,

Karma Go

I have been looking for some sort of portable Wi-Fi I could use here at home as well as at work which I am paying for and is not associated with my phone data. What I have found is the Karma Go with a contract free never stop plan for 50.00 per month with unlimited data. It costs 149.00 + the first months service which seemed reasonable to me so I went ahead and ordered it on Sunday 11/8/2015. The only problem I see now that I have ordered is the delay in shipping seems to be long.

I will use this blog as a weekly update on the length of time I will be waiting for shipment and then subsequent arrival of my Karma Go.

In the mean time, here is a link if you would like 10.00 off when you order a Karma Go: https://yourkarma.com/invite/michae2293

After Effects Project

I am working in a new After Effects class from Udemy called After Effects Genius. In this project we learn how to create a small promotional video from scratch. At the beginning of this one, the instructor has us create an iPad with animated screen wipes. Instead I am creating a simulated Surface Pro 3 as I no longer us an iPad. Below are my results so far.

Blender Addin

I have decided on what type of addin I would like to see in Blender and I have decided to create one myself. I have already talked about this and have been learning python along with C# (After Effects, Premier Pro, Unity etc… thanks to Udemy and Lynda.com)

Features would include:

  • Moving pivot point.
  • Snap to other objects pivot point.
  • Snap to other objects vertex points.
  • Other typical architectural/engineering features.

I know all of these are available separately or can be done with multiple clicks but it would be nice to have all in one small panel.

New Theme

I have edited most posts for proper classifications, changed themes and added new security for this blog. It has been quite some time since I have posted anything about my projects but getting this site back up and running proper was important as well. With the site working proper it is time to get back to Udemy and the Unity game creation course I am taking.

Getting this blog back up and running proper was possible in most part to the course ‘WordPress Essential Training’ at Lynda.com.

Word Press Essentials

I am presently taking the course in Lynda.com called WordPress Essentials. I this time I am 50% through this course, taking my time at the same time organizing and updating this site. Bare with me during this process, I should be done this week. Frankly the organization side is taking the most time.
