Carrie’s ring came in on Friday and it is too big. I used the size she gave me, but it looks like things are going to be better. I found a three pcs set on Etsy today and sent her the picture and she about had a heart attack she loved them so much. I sent her to the web page, and she kept scrolling through the pictures. Look.

I’m starting to pack things up today, starting with the living room. Get the TV stand and end table cleaned out and fill up a box with the remaining stuff. Then pack up the Christmas village and it should look clean.

I was requested for aa start date when I finally got ahold of the HR department of my new employer and that date will be after I fly into Thomasville, GA the day after my birthday. I will fly in on Wednesday, Aug 11, 2021. This should be all right with them giving me plenty of time to get used to the idea of a new job, pack my stuff, apply for an apartment, and get my move arranged.

Once there I will be getting a ticket for Carrie to join me and stay for as long as she would like to.

There are two apartment complexes in Thomasville, GA with another opening in December. I’m considering staying in a hotel until the third complex opens in December. All new construction with new appliances and furnishings.

Offer from Whitcraft has been accepted. I had sent an email to Travis about the job and Triumph but had no response, so I called him. He told me HR had concerns he was jumping the gun in not wanting to interviewing other candidates before hiring me. I told him I had an offer and to forget about me and interview others, turning down Triumph for Whitcraft. I’m good with the decision and the time has come to start the move to Thomasville, GA.

After I accepted the offer, I received an email from ADP for setting up my employee account. For such a small company they are very automated in their processes. This onboarding was amazingly easy and straight forward. W4, I9 and direct deposit information all complete. Time to start packing and get the movers on board. I’ll start checking out apartments this week as well. The movers will need an address.

I have received an offer from Whitcraft. The offer is for 90,000/year +8,000 for moving expenses. I’m still waiting for an offer from Triumph, but I will need to send an acceptance to Whitcraft by COB today.

If after I send my acceptance and prior to receiving any money from them and Triumph sends me an offer I will tell Whitcraft something came up and I can no longer work for them.

Angie still expects me to help pay for her new place when I get a job. She needs to understand, before she moves, that I will not be helping her.

I had an interview with the Engineering Manager for Whitcraft group a few weeks ago via Zoom and was asked to travel out there for a site visit and more interviews a week ago. Things went well and last week (the week I forgot to post) I received a notice from their HR representative informing me he had received great feedback from the visit and would be sending me a formal offer of employment. This I have not received yet but did receive an email asking for permission to complete a background check. This is good news to say the least.

The same day I left for the trip I had a phone call from Travis Magee at Triumph asking me if I would be interested in a Sr. Analyst position with him. Conversations with him have gone very well and this could translate into a remote position with Triumph and eventually a move back to Dallas. I am hoping very much for the Triumph job because it would not require an immediate move and I could head up to Seattle to see Carrie.

Angie put in an application for HUD, was accepted and then picked out a place last week not thinking how she would be paying for it. She thought it would be around 150.00 per month but it has turned out to be around 400.00. She is thinking I am going to help her to pay for it. When I told her no last week, she started threatening suicide. She came to her senses and called me the next day telling me that she would not hurt her family like that and that she would not be talking to me anymore. That lasted about 5 minutes; seriously. She has not stopped calling me thinking I will change my mind. She does not get the fact I do not have an income at this time and will not give her 1000.00 plus to pay for the down payment, get her car legal etcetera, etcetera. Today she was still under the impression that I would change my mind and when I told her under no circumstances would I give her the money she broke down and started bawling and did not stop until her phone died. When I call her in the morning to get her up for work, I’m sure she will expect me to have changed my mind. I will fill you in later.

Start praying for these jobs, I certanly am.

It was the trip from hell but the visit to WhiteCraft group plant was great.

Yes, that title is correct. I applied for many jobs last week, some in CA but five jobs were for GKN with two of them being manufacturing engineers in Tallassee, AL. Yep, the same place I worked when 9-11 happened. I am a perfect fit for both jobs because I created many of their work instructions for multiple programs and I started their MRB system down there in Alabama and updated and created new procedures in St. Louis GKN for expediting their MRB process. I would love to go back to GKN in Alabama.

Angie has done something that is not so smart again. She applied for HUD assistance and found an apartment for herself yesterday (Sunday 6/13/2021). With changing how she is paid (her bank rather than the cash card from her job shop) she cannot perform here agreement with me to pay me back the loan she received. Additionally, when she moves to her apartment, she will hardly be able to make insurance or car payments which means she has made the decision to forget the money she owes me. This is a deal breaker, and I will leave. I will give her a month to get a new phone and then get rid of that number off my bill and try and cancel the internet.

Yep those initials are the best. Yesterday the term ‘our’ bedroom was used. Made me feel great. Yes the initials are for Carrie Mattern.

I did a new update to my resume’ removing extraneous things including the small section on interests and hobbies, this brought my resume’ to exactly two pages long. It is hard to believe but the new resume at only two pages covers 30+ years of aerospace experience and includes a brief listing of my banking experience just in case I want to apply for a banking or money handling jobs.

LinkedIn was another change. When updating my profile and adding additional job titles and locations I saw an item within the site I was not aware of. It adds a hash to your account identifying that you are actively looking for a job and makes a post for you asking for other members and your connections to reach out and help you if they desire. When I did this I was getting responses from my contacts within minutes. I also received a response from my old boss from The Boeing Company in Seattle, WA.

My mood is better now.

A friend of mine said he would check on my application at GAC in Tulsa here. I contacted him because my application has been sitting on the hiring managers desk for quite a few weeks. As soon as he said he would check on it I received an email saying I was no longer under consideration.

I’m quite sure I was the most qualified but as I read recently, even if you are the most qualified for a job and not accepted it just means there is something new out there for you. That new thing just might be the job in Florida I was contacted about yesterday.
