Picking up the pace

I have become addicted to working out with my Fenix 5x, Polar and Fitbit. I have been, so far this week walking three+ miles every morning and riding another nine+ miles every evening. Loving it but need to stop eating so much during the weekends. Sometimes it gets out of control with GrubHub being no help at all 🙂 .

Picking up the pace on the Peloto workout as well, adding a 10 minute cool down at the end of my 30 minute workouts every day. Hopefully this will up the anty enough for me to start loosing weight like I should be. I’m going to have to get out the Total Gym soon I think.

SharePoint:

SharePoint has again taken a back seat to Sam’s business cards. The good news it I completed them and ordered them today, take a look.

These sure didn’t come out looking good here but I converted to .jpg from a .psd. I’ll try a .png and see if that looks better but you get the idea.

The Suburban in the front view of the card (top) is from a 3D model brought into Photoshop, adding lighting and headlamps was pretty fun to play with.

Unity, C#, Python, Blender and Adobe CC

I won’t be receiving new chapters for the RPG book I was reviewing for a while so they are sending me six chapters for a book on Unity 2018 shaders for review. I have always wanted to know how to code shaders in Unity and this is a perfect opportunity, review the book and learn something new at the same time.

I think I’ll try to duplicate the card front in Blender for a little 3D effect, shouldn’t be too difficult.

This last weekend:

Last weekend was great, I even got in a 45 minute workout Saturday morning along with a 10 minute cool down.

Great Workout week

This last week was fantastic, here are the numbers:

  • Over 50,000 Steps
  • Over 30 flights of stairs
  • Two personal record rides
  • instead of slowing down during the week Friday was the best day

I found you lose some of your ‘in shapeness’ just being off of your routine for three days and amount off the bike of five days. My resting heart rate jumped to 76 and fitness level went from 34-38 to 33-37. It has now taken me over a week to get things back to normal. Blood pressure thank god did not rise to any extent.

SharePoint:

Working of workflows in SharePoint designer 2013 exclusively right now. InfoPath, PowerApps are a pain to get going in our environment. Custom workflows is the way to go now. Time to experiment.

Unity, C#, Python and Blender

No more chapters from Packt

This last weekend:

This last weekend was great. I did just about nothing. Next weekend will be the last for that as I now have to concentrate all of my time on possible passive income sources. Of course they won’t be all that passive at first but I’m hoping after a year I can be generating an income of at least 5000.00 per month. After a few years letting this source increase and then add social security to it I should be ok when I finally retire. At that point I can see the income picking up even more.

SharePoint 365 at work

We updated our SharePoint at my place of business to SharePoint 365 between November 2017 and mid January 2018. In doing so management put me in charge of our site giving me a golden opportunity to learn something new which everyone knows I love. While learning this tool I purchased my own SharePoint site with an E3 license and in doing so learned our company limited our abilities in creating, maintaining and using a lot of the collaboration tools SharePoint 365 has. This is both a blessing and a curse. A curse because I can’t do some of the tasks I want to do, a blessing because I get to learn all sorts of great things we can do that we could not do before or shall I say the company never gave us the training and permissions to do the things we could have done.

Soon I’ll share (pun intended) some videos of things I learned and possible create some training for Udemy and make some cash with the new knowledge I have obtained.

More, much more to come in the future.

I also learned that at my age it does not take too long to get out of shape. Being sick for over a week and not able to ride my Peloton for almost three weeks. My heart health fitbit number went down three points that in itself is drastic taking my fitness down from good to excellent to average. I’m back riding and hopeful my numbers will increase quickly. My other concern was my resting heart rate went from roughly 74 – 75 to over 80, up to 84. I’m confident I can get this down quickly. Wish me luck.

15 mile ride on Saturday

Friday afternoon I got on the Peloton expecting to do 15 minutes of a 60 minute ride and I ended up doing the entire 60 minutes and it felt wonderful when I was done. I rode the Oregon and Washington Scenic ride. My butt hurts a bit after the ride and then I ended up with some kind intestinal problem, it could be just the flu but spending so much time in the bathroom I was not able to ride much more during the weekend. As soon as I am better, back on the bike. I also feel the weight coming off which makes me want to ride more.

Grand Tetons

My first ride on the Peloton bike was a ride through the Grand Tetons. I rode with the new shoes that arrived from Peloton on Friday. The shoes are unlike anything I have ever worn before with a solid plastic sole the you  attach the cleat to. Absolutely nothing I would where on the ice 🙂 as I would be on my ass in no time. This afternoon I’ll be taking a ride in the pacific northwest.

I also purchased a new Fit Bit, the Fit bit Charge 2. I am hoping the sync feature is more robust than the Charge I wear now. The battery life seems to have been more than doubled to five days rather than two. This one should be here Friday 1/20/2017 inauguration day!

Peloton part duex

My Peloton was to arrive last Thursday but due to weather conditions in MO they had to delay until today (Monday). It was supposed to be here early but as of now, 4:53pm it is not and should be here soon. Wasted an entire day of vacation.

I hope they don’t take too long setting up, I need to go to bed on time.

And the new year starts

What is up for this new year.

Number one on the list has to be lose the weight I gained which is to say get in shape and continue to do so as I was when I was in physical therapy after my heart attach. To do this I order a Peloton spin bike at 2400.00 this is an expensive gift to myself but on that I will enjoy. I enjoyed the stationary bike at therapy and have been complaining none of the weight rooms I have at the apartment or the hotel had them.

Number two will be the Project Management Professional certificate my boss mentioned late last year. If he meant it great I’ll do It as I have signed up for a course at Udemy for the same. If now I’ll still take the Udemy course then practice tests, then the real deal.

Number three is the book… I’m not sure of that direction as it has changed very much over the last year but I’ll set my direction and move forward.

Last but not least is the continued pursuit of Blender modeling, Unity Game creating and C#/Python programing. All of these last items I enjoy very much but have limited time to practice.

I think all of these can be accomplished this year with the first one a must if I want to go back to Seattle next Christmas.
