This was a great three-day weekend. I have not had one of these in quite some time.

It started off really good. I went to Synovus Bank to open a new account and deposit my inheritance check. The whole process took less than a half an hour and went really well.

After I got home, I was going to set up Carrie’s NetVue Birdfy Wi-Fi enabled bird feeder. I was going to attach it to our outdoor deck table but could not find my drill chucks for my electric screwdriver. I knew exactly where they should have been but could not find them. I was so upset because getting this feeder installed was very important to Carrie. I was able to use the provided Velcro strip and attach it to the deck table quite securely, but I was still very upset. I looked again all-day Saturday but could not find them. I settled for just keeping the install as is and start charging the feeder camera.

On Sunday morning, while lying in bed, I kept thinking, those drill chucks have to be in one of the drawers in the kitchen. That is where I put them and I have not used them since Carrie was here. I got out of bed and opened the drawer next to the refridgerator and they were not there. I did not think they would be. I next wend to the first drawer on the left of the main countertop where I thought they should be. I started taking everything out of the drawer piece by piece and I saw a little clear plastic case. The case looked like the case they came in but had a sticker on the top so I could not see inside. Upon turning the case over there they were. In the drawer I looked at least five times over two days. I labled the sticker ‘DRILL CHUCKS’ so that fiasco does not happen.

The solar cell charger did not seem to be providing enough power for charging so on Sunday I plugged the cable into a USB already set up outside. It will take at least 14 hours to complete the charging. When I get home tonight, I will set up the camera.

Arrived home last Monday after a great time in Seattle. After I got home things went downhill I was extremely tired and had to take an extra day off to regroup. After that all was well and the rest of the week was great.

I’m heading back to Thomasville, GA after my trip to Seattle for Dad’s Funeral and Celebration of Life. A lot of pictures were taken, we also made a trip to Seattle to have dinner at Larry and Joanne’s home. See pictures below.

Yes, I’m heading home and this time I again purchased first class tickets.

The funeral for Dad will be on the 24th of March and the Celebration of life will be on the 25th of March. I will be heading to Seattle on the 22nd and leaving on the 27th. That gives me a couple of days with Carrie before the funeral and then a day after the Celebration of life to relax with her. Make some plans for us and her upcoming trip.

On the 28th of February it was 60 days since dad had passed away. According to the will, the inheritance will be divided equally between Rick, Chris, Tyra, Myself and Diane and survive him by 60 days.

Tyra called Alliant on Tuesday the 14th of February (Valentines Day), and they (Alliant) indicated she should receive something within a couple weeks. That would put it exactly at 60 days. I don’t think anything will happen that fast, but it would be nice.

I personally am not expecting this to be life changing but I am sure praying for that.

It wasn’t life changing but it was over $80,000.00 which I can’t deposit into any account here. I’ll need to open a new account and deposit the money there and close my account with Arvest in Tulsa. I liked that bank a lot. Chris did say there was more money coming, something like another $20,000.00. That would be nice and could be life changing.

You can tell from the above paragraph I received my checks from the inheritance.

What is this about you may be asking. That is a question everyone in the Engineering department has been wondering about since the meeting was scheduled for the first week of January 2023 last November 2022.

The meeting has been postponed multiple times since then and was finally held on the 15th of February and this is a synopsis of the meeting:

It was pretty much a blow by blow of what Hans expects from us. Thinks like start times and end times, how long for lunch etc. Smoke breaks or breaks in general. He also mentioned things to the effect of two late days equals a full day late just stupid shit like that. What he doesn’t realize is that in order for him to set any kind of protocols like that it must be approved through HR.

It came from a very strange email. On February 6th, Monday, everyone received and email from our manager. We all were CC’d on the email, the email was to HR. In the email he requested a list of all of the engineering team member swipes for the previous week. That week was the week he was gone for some reason, maybe a class of some sort. In other words, he was checking on when we all arrived to work the week he was gone. This could be considered intimidation, in other words a form of workplace harassment. This would be illegal. I have since forwarded that email to home in case it happens to go missing.

This is also a Holiday. Presidents’ Day to be precise. Nice to have another three-day weekend.

Will not see another three-day weekend until the end of May, Veterans’ Day.

I think it was on YouTube when I was watching ‘The Nomadic Fanitic’. He was at Disney World, at the MM store and was trying to create his own M&M’s. The system was down at the time, but I went to the M&M website and was able to create these.

Pretty cool huh. They have already shipped and are set to arrive on the 8th of February. Wonder if I’ll let her open them. They also come in a gift container that looks like this.

I received an email from Chris with the information needed to have the inheritance distributed. I had to complete a form telling them my name SSN, phone and address including Dad’s SSN birth date and date of death. Write a signed letter letting them know the same information from the form. All this had to be sent to them with the death certificate and photos of my ID.

Rick sent his certified mail I sent mine regular mail because there is no hurry because reading the will it stated that the those of us who survive him by 60 days will receive the disbursements. This of course means we will not get anything for at least 60 days after his death. This would be 60 days after December 30th, 2022, or February 28th, 2023.

My concern at this point is after the 60 days and after we receive the check, what do I do with the money. It all depends on the amount. if it is under $10,000.00, I can deposit directly into my checking account in Tulsa, OK. If it is over that amount, I think I need to open an account here in Thomasville, GA then close my account in Tulsa. Opening up a Chase Checking and Savings account could be an option as well. Then it could be used across the US and I would not have to open a lot of accounts in different states.
