I found a place

After looking at The Edge, a couple in Broken Arrow I found a place not on my list. On the way home Wednesday looking at a couple very nice places in rather huge apartment complexes I notices a smaller complex just before we made the turn to get on the freeway. It is called Stonehaven Villas and they had a nice one bedroom for 671.00/month. This would be close to 850.00 per month less than I pay now. I will be able to start saving some serious money, close to 1000.00/1100.00 per month.

Need a change

I decided to make a drastic change in my life. I am going to move form Owasso, OK to Downtown Tulsa, OK.

I have always wanted to live downtown and this is an opportunity for me to fulfill a dream. I only need to sign a year lease to learn what it is like and if I prefer the burbs I’ll move again in a year.

I found a nice place yesterday call ‘The Edge’. They started leasing in June and look very nice but I decided to take at least a month to look around and then decide.

I think I may have mentioned a bit ago that after spending ~8 years working on paying off debts including all of my hospital bills from the heart attack, left over credit cards from my marriage and other stupid credit cards I applied for and was approved so I can reestablish my credit, after taking care of all of that I now have zero debt and a credit score of 0, ‘F’, very poor. How freaking stupid is that. To make a long story short, I decided to try shooting for the moon and I applied for an American Express Gold card, not expecting anything to come of it and lo and behold I was approved! I get my new card in a day or so and will use it to pay rent at the hotel. When they charge my card I will pay it off within a day or two. I got the AMEX card because it is a ‘Charge’ card and not a ‘Credit’ card. I want nothing to do with Credit ever again.

Working out

I have been continuing to work out with 5lbs gone I think it may be starting to work. Creating a new item within my daily/weekly routine is harder than it would seem. Everyone has only so much time during a day, 24 hours to be exact and mine is pretty full as it is. The fitbit has helped in adding a couple hours to accommodate the workout and other activities I am working on including the book. I have not posted chapters yet because I have been adding more content ideas and I add to each of these sections as ideas pop into my head. However I will post a final table of contents this week marking the starting point.

Back to working out. I started with settings on the Total Gym I thought were ok but turned out to be much to high for me at the time. Even though working out on the Total Gym is easy and working through each exercise is quite easy it takes time to learn the routine. The first week was frustrating and I got in three workouts during the week. The next week was easier but I stuck with three again as this is what the videos recommended, those days were Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Last week I did three with a small one for good measure, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and four days off. This week I plan on four on and three off. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Two days off (Saturday and Sunday) then back to the same routine. I think this is the one I will stick to. I don’t need to look at the exercise list anymore so things to pretty quick and with the quickness comes additional exercises.

Shape it up

Getting in shape, that is what has been on my mind lately. I have been at the top of my game at work and then at the bottom of my game when I get home. Laziness and procrastination has taken over my life at home and I now plan on putting a stop to it.

I had a revelation of sorts a couple of weeks ago when I was thinking about getting into loosing this weight I have gained and getting into shape. I am not the sort of person that enjoys going to a gym and hated cardio therapy though I had to do it. In my thoughts I am always self conscience and think everyone is looking and me, I know this is not the case but my inner self believes it to be. With this in mind, about three weeks ago, laying in bed the thought came to me. I don’t know where it came from because I was not thinking about exercise or getting into shape at the time but my thoughts went to The Total Gym. Yes, the one advertised on TV early in the morning and late at night. I thought to myself, you can do that in the privacy of your home and looks easy to do without a trainer.

I bit the bullet and purchased the XLS and was surprised how expensive it was. I was thinking three or four hundred. It was 799.00 the first time I looked. The next time I looked 2999.00, third time 999.00. I then went online and had a chat with a sales person and she gave it to me for 799.00 plus the ab crunch accessories which I won’t need just yet.

The unit showed up in 2 weeks fully assembled but was a workout just getting it out of the box and set up properly (I am very out of shape). I watched some YouTube review videos and the Setup video it came with and these had be rather excited. I then watch the first workout video to get a feel for the routine and started the next day. It really felt good to sweat like that but I was still clumsy changing from exercise to exercise.

Now I am getting use to the routine, getting sore in a good way and I believe I will start seeing the results soon.

I am taking pictures of this transformation and will show the results as my confidence and progress improve over time.
On a side note, I have been able to stop my blood pressure medication and keep that under control with diet so far and after just a couple days on the Total Gym had noticed a decrease in my blood pressure and heart rate throughout the day. This I feel is a great effect as well.

Wish me luck!

Time to get back into it

I have decided it is time to get back into the swing of things, Blender, Unity, Work… etc. I remember when I was at the hospital I wanted to go back to work 3 days after my heart attack looking back on those thoughts and how I felt at that time and comparing to how I feel now I was mistaken. With the changes I have made to my diet and exercise which in turn has made be feel much better than I did prior to the health problems I feel it is time to focus on getting back to work. This includes working in Blender and Unity.

Tomorrow shall be a wonderful day!

They kicked my butt

Well, last week when April said she would be my trainer for Cardio therapy she said she would make me sweat and she kept her promise this morning! When I told her one of my goals was to start riding my bicycle again and get up to 20 miles that is exactly where she focused the adjustments to my workout. My Heart Rate (HR) was raised to 150 beats per minute (bpm) and I was sweating profusely. I am definitely not use to this but I am looking forward to getting use to it. 🙂

Once I get my routine worked out I’ll be back hard at work with Blender and Unity.

Latest Health Update

After my latest appointments with my primary care physician and the cardiologist, I do not have another appointment with the primary care for four to five months and the next appointment with the cardiologist is not until January 16 of 2015. Cardio Therapy began this week and went well and I will be participating Monday, Wednesday and Thursday for the next three months.

There was a confusion with one of my medications because my primary care doctor did not renew one of the three medications I called in for renewal. Not being one that knows anything about medications I figured I would renew the ones they called in and ask about the other when I saw him. Well, I asked about it when I saw the cardiologist because my blood pressure was quite high when I was there and it turns out the one medication they did not call in was the most important medication I take. I had to purchase a BP monitor and now watch my pressure during the day from now on, calling in if it stays high so they can adjust as necessary. To date my blood pressure has remained good, the last reading I took at 3:00pm today was 124/77 with a heart rate of 75, all pretty dang good.

I saw that Andrew Price has announce a new Christmas competition. I think  will enter this one with a subject of “Hotel Christmas – “.

Well, feeling better and hope to be back to work soon.
